Basil Ohio

Basil Ohio merged with Baltimore Ohio in Liberty Township, Fairfield County Ohio in the mid 1940′s.  However during the period of interest, Basil was situated about three quarters of a mile west of Baltimore.  It was laid out in 1825 by Jacob Goss and became the home of a number of Swiss immigrants.  Furniture makers known to have worked in Basil Ohio include:

Xavier Fray, a cabinet maker active in 1850
